Who are you? Back to Top
Good question. I guess you could say that I am your typical motorcycle enthusiast who has been interested in motorcycles ever since I was knee high to a grasshopper's ass. Over the years, I have owned and worked on many motorcycles (street and dirt) and have always enjoyed talking about them. I am also the Technical Editor for MiniMoto Magazine, so some of the info found on this site can often be found in the magazine as well.

Why did you create this site? Back to Top
When I first started to shop for parts for my CRF 50, I quickly realized that the market was full of choices yet little to no detailed information was available about the parts being offered for sale. After not finding the answers I was looking for, I decided to create this site with the intent to offer detailed product reviews that are more helpful than "this part kicks ass". By reading about the products on this site, it is my hope that you the reader will become better informed about a particular product, and ultimately be able to decide if the product will suit your needs.

What products will you review? Back to Top
If it's made to stick, bolt, or weld onto an XR or CRF 50, I will review it. With so many parts being offered for these bikes, I have plenty to keep me busy in the 50cc market alone.

Are you affiliated with any companies? Back to Top
In order to keep my reviews free from any outside bias, I am independent and am not affiliated with any one company. By not being affiliated with any one company, I have no reasons to hold back when writing up a review.

Do you do product comparisons or "shoot outs?" Back to Top
Yes and no. While I have no problems comparing an aftermarket product to the stock product it replaces, I will not compare aftermarket products to each other. I feel it is not realistic to compare products since everyone has different riding styles and needs. If you think about it, does it really make sense to recommend ABC shock over XYZ shock because it gave me a smoother ride? I guess if everyone were the same height and weight as me, and rode the exact same way I do, it might make sense. So until they perfect human cloning, product comparisons really do not make a lot of sense to me.

How do you "test" the parts you review? Back to Top
Any part that gets bolted onto my bike is taken for many laps around a track that I have built on my property. The grass track has a few doubles with gaps ranging anywhere from 8 to 15 feet, as well as a few single jumps. The track also has a table-top that is about 45 feet long as well as a couple of whoops sections. A stock 50 would not survive long on this track!

Can you recommend a product for me? Back to Top
Since nobody knows your riding style better than you do, I will leave that up to you. What I will do is provide you with enough information to help you determine if a product will work for your application.

I need to ask you a question. How do I contact you? Back to Top
If your question is about a review, send me an email at info@danosbikeshop.com. Just so you know, I respect the fact that you have taken the time to email me so I will do everything I can to email you back as soon as possible.

How do I contact you about having my product reviewed? Back to Top
If you are interested in having me review your product, please email me at reviews@danosbikeshop.com and I will fill you in on all the details.

Do you sell parts? Back to Top
As of right now, no. Dano's Bike Shop is only focusing on providing you the best product reviews and technical information available on the web. As long as I have products to review and technical articles to write, it's safe to say that I will not have the time available to start selling products as well.
